The lumber we use to make GameOn tables is harvested sustainably. There’s no clear-cutting of large swaths of hardwood forests, leaving large areas to erode away before the continuous growth comes in. Trees are cut selectively when they’re ready to be used for lumber.

“I purchased the 72×50 Omni Table from GameOn Tables, along with 6 matching chairs (Vintage Mission), all in Maple with the Rich Tobacco stain, as well as a dice dam, topper, and storage box.
This is a hard review to write, because I have so much I’d like to say. Let me begin by stating emphatically that I have in no way been compensated in any fashion for this review. I write this from the heart, because I want everyone out there who is shopping for a game table to realize that this is the company you want to do business with.
Let’s go through this step by step, starting with the order process. I dealt with Jack, who answered my endless stream of questions quickly and thoroughly. Jack knows his business and his product line, that’s for sure. More on him later.
Then came the wait for delivery, which was of course the hardest part. But finally, the day came. Delivery was by Swartzentruber, and couldn’t have been a better experience. Alvin brought everything in and assembled it expertly, and took away all of the packing materials so there was no mess left for me to deal with. He was pleasant and professional and experienced, and made short work of the assembly. True white glove service.
Now, the table itself. It just oozes craftsmanship. And it is heavy! Very sturdy, no wobble, built to last several lifetimes. As soon as Alvin left, I set up a game so I could enjoy my purchase. The finish is exquisite, not too glossy, not too matte, but in between. The color has a natural variance (hey, that’s how wood works – different parts of the grain absorb the stain differently) that just makes the table scream quality and character. I love it. I can honestly say this table is my most prized possession.
I tend to keep one topper piece on one end, with my laptop and spare game components on it. For my table, this leaves me a 41.5″ x 37.75″ sunken vault play area. I have played Descent: Legends of the Dark, Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle Earth, and Forbidden Desert so far and this area has been more than adequate. I have some larger games coming up on the horizon, and if I need the space I’ll just relocate the topper plank to the storage box and voila, now I have a 60″ x 37.75″ sunken vault play area, or if I need it I’ll just put all 3 topper pieces on and I have a full 72″ x 50″ table-top lay area. I also will be starting a D&D campaign shortly, and will use every inch of that space.
Quick note on the topper planks: They simply rest on top of the table. The underside is covered in a black felt like material that is shaped so that it goes down into the vault area just a bit (maybe a quarter inch) and that keeps the topper planks from moving around excessively. They still have a little wiggle, but not enough to cause any problems with games (or dinner!) set up on top. It is a thoughtful design that works very well, and isn’t clearly explained on the GameOn website, so I wanted to mention it.
So, am I happy with my purchase? I’m sure you can tell by now that the answer is a resounding yes! Would I do it again? In a heartbeat, only I wouldn’t be so nervous since now I know the quality of the product I would receive.
Is there anything I would have changed or done differently? Only one thing: I would have ordered a 84 x 50 table instead! I was concerned I wouldn’t have had space for the larger table (1BR apartment), but it turns out I do.
One more thing to cover, and as important as the quality of the table and chairs is, this one is just as important. And that is the nature of this company and the people behind it.
Jack, one of the owners and the ‘front-man’ as it were, is a true and genuine human being. He cares about not only the health of his business but the quality of his tables, the attention to detail, the craftsmanship, and above all this he honestly wants every customer to be satisfied with their purchase. Do I know Jack or anyone in the company personally? Nope. My opinion is formed from the emails and phone calls with the man. The passion and genuine concern he shows over any issues or problems the customer has. I had a small issue or two, and Jack took care of them. Didn’t have to. Cost him extra money to do it. But it speaks to the integrity of not only the man but the company. If you need a game table, and are looking for quality and craftsmanship, you need to put GameOn Tables at the top of your list. They are that good. As Jack told me, you won’t just be a customer, you’ll be part of the family.”
